Hooray for Spring!

The view from the Umbrella Studio now has peeps of greening grass and budding trees. With all the unknowns, the shifting of seasons brings some solace here at Earthdance; we hope for you too. With the awakening of spring, there are exciting things in the horizon for and at Earthdance.

Join in a global conversation about the future of contact improvisation! With presenters from around the world, this conference will offer ideas and reflections on major topics like CI in a Changing World and Equity and Access in CI.

In recognition of the diversity of economies, we do not have a single fee structure for participating in this event.

For over a year, Earthdance has been closed to outside visitors, so what better way to come back than to connect to the earth and grounds together. Join the community for a day of cleaning up the grounds to prepare for the summer. Projects will be outside and socially distanced, unless working with others from your family/pod. COVID safe practices required.

Participants are then welcomed to stay for the Outdoor Music Jam later in the day.

Following the work day, Earthdance will be hosting its first COVID "safe" outdoor music jam. COVID protocols will be in place and there is limited capacity.  Let the music move you and dance away (at a physically safe distance from others or within your own pod). Bring your own picnic and drinks.

What will an Earthdance Summer Jam be like in 2021?  Can we realistically host a jam? Will venues and activities be opening back up by August? Will a Jam be entirely outdoors, smaller than normal, involve dancing in specific pods? 

We don't know the answers to these questions, but we want to begin planning for the possibility that we could host a version of our Summer Contact Improvisation Jam. We'll share more information as it is determined, and in the mean time we invite you to hold August 3rd to 8th as a potential time for an event or series of activities.
