Join us as we re-enter into dancing together, attuning our nervous systems and desire for connection!

This workshop will create a context of mutual care to support developing our agency and choice as we re-engage with Contact Improvisation. Our explorations will be informed by Somatic Experiencing® and various resiliency/consent practices. We will discover pathways to dancing together - at whatever distance we are ready for.

People are getting together and hugging and dancing together. Do you want to jump right into contact and forget the whole thing? Do you want to run the other way at the idea of dancing at a jam? Maybe both? Perhaps it feels hard to ask for what you want in order to feel safe - or to move slowly enough to even understand the options. If you are navigating any of these or similar complexities, you are not alone! This workshop is a way to practice this together.

The fee for this workshop is sliding scale $45-$125. Fees are waived for self-identified BIPOC participants and financial assistance available.

Come experience music outside in the field at Earthdance. Bring a blanket, your mask, beverages and a picnic if you please. Dance in your own space, stay 6 feet from those not in your pod. 

John Hughes is an internationally renowned composer, kora player, percussionist and vocalist whose style crosses myriad cultural boundaries and fuses disparate influences. Playing ancient traditional instruments not often heard in the United States, many of which he builds himself, John takes his audience on an intimate musical tour of universal expressions of joy and hope that soothe and up-lift the spirit.

A monthly BIPOC- only space for self -identified Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) with Taja Will & Andrew Suseno

The centerpoint of our time together will be a proposal to focus on our own bodies, in stillness and movement, and our connections with each other. We will have no goals, we will not need to share what we accomplish, there is no need for success in our time together. This is not a class, this is an invitation for building connections together across distance.

An online festival for interdisciplinary exploration Facilitated by Peter Sciscioli

For this year's version of the lab, we once again invite you to gather online to investigate and experience ways that movement, sound, image, and performance can inform human culture, while responding to the current moment. With multiple workshops each day, teaching artists from the International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium (IIAC) create an embodied, if even virtual, dialogue at the intersection of modalities—voice, movement, activism, site-specific performance, drawing, physical theater, and more.

The International Interdisciplinary Artists Consortium (IIAC) is a network of performing and creative artists, educators, and producers working across artistic disciplines and continental divides. The body and movement are central to the consortium’s practice, research, and dialogue.

Only a month ago, it was hard to imagine whether or not an on-site jam could happen this summer... although we're still in the mystery, the details and potential are starting to take form and shape. For now, if you're interested to join, SAVE THE DATE and stay tuned for information.

We'll share more information as it is determined, and in the mean time we invite you to hold August 3rd to 8th as a potential time for an event or series of activities.
